UN SDG 2
United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2
“End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture by 2030” – United Nations
Sustainable Development Goal 2 aims to achieve “zero hunger.” It is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations in 2015. The official wording is: “End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture” by 2030.
According to the Food and Agricultural Organization (FOA), in 2020, between 720 million and 811 million persons worldwide suffered from hunger, roughly 161 million more than in 2019. The United Nations calls on stakeholders to join hands together in creating a world free of hunger by 2030.
To achieve this, we need to increase the agricultural productivity and incomes of small-scale food producers and ensure sustainable food production systems.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, WE MUST START TO SLVE THE FOOD SYSTEM PROBLEMS IN OUR LOCALITY. THE SMALL ACTIONS IN INDIVIDUAL STATES ARE THE CATALYST TO SOLVE THE GLOBAL FOOD DEFICIT PROBLEM AND ACHIEVE THE SUSTAINABLE GOAL 2 BY 2030.
